Beverly Goldfine is described as a champion of those less fortunate; of education and of the arts. Her commitment to providing low-income housing in Duluth led to a national award from President Ford. She is the founder of the Duluth-Superior Community Foundation, which has grown to more than $20 million. As a long-term member of the UMD Tweed Museum of Art, she served on the board for the addition of the Sax Sculpture Conservatory. Today, her legacy to the students live on in the UMD Beverly and Erwin Goldfine Scholarship for Academic Excellence.
