Dr. Edelman is an eminent scientist. He has made extraordinary discoveries and major contributions to three branches of science; namely, immunology, development, and neuroscience. His discoveries in immunology earned him the Nobel Prize for Physiology and Medicine in 1972; he was elected member of the National Academy of Sciences in 1969. Dr. Edelman has published several books on theoretical biology and neuroscience and has had numerous articles published in research journals.
