Outstanding Achievement Award Recipient

College of Pharmacy, June 28, 2017

Steven T. Simenson received a bachelor of science degree in pharmacy in 1977 from the College of Pharmacy at the University of Minnesota. Four years later, he became managing partner of Goodrich Pharmacy of Anoka, one of the oldest surviving community pharmacies in Minnesota. Under his leadership, the practice has grown to six locations and the services offered have expanded from traditional dispensing services that include: immunizations, asthma management, blood-pressure monitoring, cholesterol screening, custom compounding, diabetes management, medication-therapy, and smoking cessation, as well as health services to employers. Goodrich Pharmacy became one of the first pharmacy practices to be connected to a health system’s patient electronic medical record. Simenson serves on many civic and professional organizations, including the Pharmacy Dean Search Committee for the University of Minnesota, as president of the Minnesota Pharmacists Association (2000), and the American Pharmacists Association in 2014. He is the recipient of several awards, such as the Bowl of Hygeia Award and the Distinguished Pharmacist from the Pharmacy Alumni Society. He also maintains Fellowship status in the American Pharmacists Association.
