Simon Wong

Simon Wong received a bachelor's degree in psychology and studio arts from the University of Minnesota in 1974. He is the founder, chairman and managing director of the Kampery Group, a highly successful Hong Kong-based coffee, tea, dairy, and health and organic products company. The Kampery Group imports nearly 40% of the coffee consumed in mainland China. It has offices throughout Hong Kong and China, as well as a presence in Canada. Prior to developing Kampery, Wong worked for his father's Hong Kong coffee and restaurant business. He is described as an innovative businessman, who is a mentor and a teacher, and a man who exemplifies public service and civic engagement. Throughout Hong Kong he is highly regarded for his leadership in the food and agricultural products industry. He is a committed supporter of Hong Kong scouts and girl guides and has sponsored art and writing projects for young people. He chairs the Ye Hong Community Wellness Foundation and was recently appointed as Justice of the Peace by the Chief Executive of Hong Kong. He is the founding president of the UMAA's Hong Kong chapter and serves as a liaison between the Carlson School's China Executive MBA Program and the Hong Kong business community. He is also a University of Minnesota Foundation Trustee and a champion of higher education.
