Carol H. Pletcher

Carol Pletcher received her Ph.D. in biochemistry from the College of Biological Sciences at the University of Minnesota (1979). She joined Cargill in 1983 as a senior scientist on the central research staff. She is now a vice president in charge of the innovation efforts for all of Cargill's global businesses. In her support of her commitment to education, she serves as a member of Cargill's University of Minnesota Steering Committee and on the University of Minnesota National Alumni Board and Finance Committee. In addition, she is a regular speaker for career day at the University. One person wrote about Carol..."I think Carol was a pioneer in another very important way. She has shown that Ph.D. graduates of the University in Biological Sciences and specifically in the field of Biochemistry can fit into Minnesota Industry and make a career in this state while giving back to the institution in every way possible."
