Brian J. Osberg

Brian J. Osberg received a bachelor of science degree in business administration in 1973 from the School of Business (now Carlson School of Management) and a master of public health in public health administration in 1986 from the School of Public Health at the University of Minnesota. For more than 30 years, Osberg has demonstrated outstanding leadership and achievement in the field of health and health care in the state of Minnesota and nationally. He has served in both the private and public sector. His last position he held before retiring was serving as the program director for the National Governors Association. Previous positions include: director of health reform consulting, state Medicaid director, assistant commissioner of healthcare administration, executive vice president, Oakwood Healthcare, Inc., and vice president of integrated service network and Allina regional and product development, to name a few. He has had a tremendous impact on the ever-changing healthcare landscape and has helped to set the stage for current and future generations. He has served on the University of Minnesota Alumni Association’s National Board of Directors and he has designed and taught a class at the School of Public Health that helps to prepare students to work with new and emerging healthcare systems.
