Robert J. Kueppers

Robert J. Kueppers, deputy CEO-regulatory and public policy and vice chairman of Deloitte & Touche, LLP (Deloitte), received a bachelor's degree in business administration and accounting from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota in 1976. His career at Deloitte began after graduation where he steadily rose through the ranks. He is credited with leading Deloitte and the profession through the most significant changes in the public company accounting profession. He was instrumental in the creation and development of the Center for Audit Quality (CAQ) in 2007, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to enhance investor confidence and public trust in the global capital markets through collaboration with public company auditors and other stakeholders. He continues to play an integral role in that organization. He has served as chairman of the Extended Firm Leads committee, where the Professional Practice Directors of the largest eight public company accounting firms meet to discuss and advocate solutions for issues impacting the professional services industry. He is actively involved in numerous community organizations such as serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the New York City United Way and as Chairman of the Board of Directors of American Corporate Partners (a nationwide organization for U.S. veterans). He has been recognized by the Directorship Magazine as one of the top 100 influential professionals in corporate governance and in the boardroom. His dedication to the University of Minnesota and to the Carlson School of Management are demonstrated through his service on the Carlson School Board of Overseers, as Vice-chair of the Board, and as an active an engaged speaker and passionate advocate of the Carlson School within his company.
