Harry M. Kaiser

Harry M. Kaiser, Gellert Family Professor of Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University, received his master's degree (1981) and Ph.D. (1985) in applied economics from the University of Minnesota. In his current position as the director of the Cornell Commodity Promotion Research program, he and his staff conduct annual economic analyses required by the U.S. Congress for the national dairy and fluid milk processor advertising programs. He is a teacher and researcher in the areas of price analysis, marketing, industrial organization, policy and quantitative methods. Through his teaching and research, he has made notable contributions to the discipline of agricultural economics. He has written over 100 journal articles, three books, 17 book chapters, and 150 research bulletins. He has served as president, member of the executive board of directors, editor, and associate editor of numerous professional associations and journals. He has won many professional awards in research, extension, and teaching including the Alumni Distinguished Achievement Award from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, the Distinguished Member Award from the Northeastern Association of Agricultural and Resource Economics, and the Group Extension Award from the American Association of Agricultural Economics.
