Mark Jacobson graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 1978. His entire career has been one of service to humanity, most of that service being performed in international settings. He is known to be the moving force behind Selian Hospital in rural Tanzania. He has been responsible for medical services administration, continuing education, planning and fundraising for those units, which now serves over 40,000 patients per year. His influence has spilled over into Mozambique, Kenya, Jerusalem, and Bangladesh. He is described as a dedicated and innovative international medical leader, a tireless servant of those to whom he has dedicated his life and gifts of healing for body, mind and spirit.
