Michael J. Hoffman, dedicated business leader, community advocate, and passionate supporter of the University of Minnesota, received a master's degree in business administration in 2002 from the Carlson School of Management. He began his career at Toro Company at the age of 22. Today, he is the chairman, president and chief executive officer of the company. Under his leadership the company has continued to grow and thrive even during the most difficult economic times. He contributes to the community and the Carlson School of Management through his service on a variety of corporate and non-profit boards including the Carlson School of Management Board of Overseers, Greater Twin Cities United Way Board of Directors, and the Community Board of Minnesota Vikings Football. He has been named twice to Business Journal's Top 50 Hardest-Working Board Members and most recently he was named one of Business Journal's Top 25 Hardest-Working Board Members. He is generous of his time, meeting and mentoring students at the Carlson School. He has also served as guest lecturer at the Carlson School and is actively involved across the University.
