Sally A. Hasselbrack

Dr. Hasselbrack earned her Ph.D. in Textile Structures from the University of Minnesota in 1977. With this degree as a foundation, she has distinguished herself as an internationally acclaimed scientist, researcher, author, teacher, mentor and public servant in the field of textile science. Using her textile knowledge, she has pioneered advances in safety and product development in the aeronautics industry that help save lives. Dr. Hasselbrack is the recipient of numerous awards and honors including the Boeing Senior Technical Fellow, 1996. She was the first female to achieve this distinction. Additionally, she has initiated volunteer and teaching efforts to save the lives of children and the elderly including the Seattle Fire Department awareness films regarding clothing fires.
