Jane C. Shields Freeman

Jane C. Shields Freeman is a 1941 graduate of the University of Minnesota. She is a former three-term First Lady of Minnesota and a tireless community volunteer who has generously given her energies and talents to more than 50 causes and organizations around the globe over the last 60 years. She has maintained a lifelong passion for international affairs and the economic, social, and political well being of people around the world. Her accomplishments and contributions to the public good have been constant throughout her life and continue today. She is a devoted member of the Humphrey Institute's advisory board and is also involved in the Institute's Freeman Center for International Economic Policy, which she and Orville helped to establish in 1988.
