J. Brian Evans

J. Brian Evans received his master's degree in geophysics from the Department of Geology and Geophysics at the University of Minnesota before taking his Ph.D. in geophysics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His main contributions lie in the area of rock and mineral physics. His research has had a substantial impact in terms of advancing the understanding of the fundamental physics of deformation processes and applications to important issues in areas such as earthquake mechanics and crustal rheology. He has made numerous contributions to the earth sciences community and is dedicated to educating young scientists in solid-earth geophysics.
