Philip J. Dziuk received his bachelor's degree (1950), master's degree (1952) and Ph.D. (1955) from the College of Agriculture at the University of Minnesota. The reliance of the commercial embryo transplant industry is based largely on Dziuk's discovery of the steroid permeability properties of silicon rubber. He was a pioneer in utilization of ultrasound in the 70's to diagnose pregnancies in sows. Since his retirement, he has served on numerous boards of professional societies.
