Marilyn Tickle Bryant

Marilyn Tickle Bryant, 1949 Magna Cum Laude graduate of the Department of Philosophy, is described as a consummate leader, volunteer, and businesswoman who has made significant contributions to the University of Minnesota and the greater Twin Cities community. She has worked tirelessly for the University of Minnesota through her support for women in athletics, the University of Minnesota Foundation, and through her service on the board of the University Women's Cancer Center. She was the first Republican chair of the Minnesota Women's Political Caucus and founder of the Minnesota Women's Campaign Fund. As vice president of the family business, Adjustable Joist Company, she developed the company's equal opportunity programs and served as the company's representative to the industry-lobbying group, Associated General Contractors of Minnesota. Throughout her career she has served as a champion of gender equity in and outside of the workplace and has been an influential force in civic and educational endeavors.
