Richard P. Braun

Richard P. Braun received his bachelor's degree (1948) and master's degree (1955) from the University of Minnesota in civil engineering. In a career that spans more than 50 years, he has become one of Minnesota's most important leaders in transportation policy. He has served the public in a variety of positions, including Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Transportation. He is the founding Director of the University's Center for Transportation Studies and leader of the national Intelligent Transportation Systems initiative.
