J.S. Braun

J. S. Braun received his bachelor of science degree (1956) and a master of science degree (1957) in civil engineering in the Institute of Technology at the University of Minnesota. He is the founder of Braun Intertec Corporation and served as its Chief Executive Officer until 1995, when he retired. Braun Intertec Corporation is one of the most highly revered engineering firms in the region, employing approximately 330 people in Minnesota and 400 overall. Under his leadership, the company achieved a position of national distinction in consulting engineering for geotechnical, materials, environmental and pavement engineering. He has been an active leader and supporter of the professional organizations relevant to his profession, serving in many positions including President of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Minnesota. He has been a strong supporter and active in the service mission of Rotary International and perhaps one of his strongest interests in public service has been his support for the Institute of Technology at the University of Minnesota.
