George H. Winn

George H. Winn received a doctor of dental surgery (DDS) in the School of Dentistry in 1966 from the University of Minnesota. He entered private practice in general dentistry in New Prague, Minnesota in 1966 where he continues to practice today. He is a life member of the University of Minnesota Alumni Association (UMAA) and he has served on many high level committees including his appointment by the Board of Regents to serve as a University of Minnesota Trustee in 2007 and is currently in his second term. He has served on the 2000x2000x2000 School of Dentistry Capital Campaign Committee, a group charged with raising $2,000 from 2000 dental alumni by the year 2000. The committee's efforts resulted in raising more than four million dollars, which was used to provide support for upgrading the school's instructional facilities, faculty development, and enhancements to students' overall experience during their education. He was a member of the School's Simulation Clinic Campaign Committee, which raised its $10.5 million goal to transform the School of Dentistry's pre-clinical laboratories. He served as a member of the University of Minnesota Regent Selection Advisory Committee (1992-1998) and he served as a member of the Board of Governors for the University of Minnesota Hospital and Clinics (1981-1983). He has served the University in a multitude of ways over the years and has created a legacy of service that spans over four decades.
