Kari Torkelson

Kari Torkelson attended the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) from 1989-1991. She received her bachelor of science and doctor of optometry degrees from Indiana University. Described as a tireless worker on behalf of the UMC, she has served on the U of M Crookston Alumni Association Board of Directors (2002-2008) and as president (2006-2008). She is an active member of the All College Advisory Committee (2007 - present), the UMC Teambacker Board (2005 - present) and currently as the vice president of the board. She is a member of the UMC Athletic Hall of Fame Committee, the Biology Program Improvement Advisory Committee and she is a member of the Athletic Advisory Board for the Crookston campus. She represents UMC at numerous community events including county fairs, parades, athletic fundraisers and campus events. She is the recipient of UMC's Outstanding Alumni Award.
