Deanna Peterson

Ms. Peterson, distinguished alumnus, received her degree in sociology from the University of Minnesota in 1964. Ms. Peterson has been a tireless and dedicated volunteer of the Washington, D.C. chapter of the Alumni Association. Ms. Peterson became chapter president in 1985 and served in that capacity for five years. Her colleagues describe her as dedicated, conscientious, and committed. Ms. Peterson was nominated for the 1994 UMAA National Volunteer award. The UMAA committee was so impressed with the length and caliber of service, they elected to move the nomination up to the level of an all-University award. The All-University Honors Committee concurs with this assessment and endorsed the nomination of Ms. Deanna Peterson for the University of Minnesota Alumni Service Award.
