Kent R. Horsager

Kent R. Horsager is described as a dedicated volunteer, tireless advocate and champion for science education. He received a bachelor of science degree in agricultural economics from the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS) at the University of Minnesota in 1984. His contributions to the College include serving as a classroom speaker, attending and supporting alumni events, reaching out to fellow alums in his network, and serving on the CFANS Alumni Society Board of Directors as the representative to the National Board of the University of Minnesota Alumni Association. He is credited with establishing the Science Achievement Book Award program, which has three primary goals: 1) to recognize a high school junior who excels in science, 2) to engage alumni and friends in supporting the College, and 3) to recognize an author of a book (since 2005, 52 books have been presented to aspiring young scientists).
