Janet Heidinger

Janet Heidinger, devoted alumna, dedicated volunteer, and passionate advocate, received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education (1968), a master’s degree (1980) and a Ph.D. (1992) in educational psychology from the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) at the University of Minnesota. Heidinger taught in the Minneapolis Public Schools for over 30 years as an elementary school teacher. After retirement in 1999, she worked in a variety of positions at the University, including six years in CEHD’s Reading First Program. For more than ten years, Heidinger has demonstrated exceptional volunteer service to the University through her involvement with the CEHD Alumni Society Board, Women’s Philanthropic Leadership Circle, which she is a founding member, Pi Lambda Theta chapter, and the Hennepin County Master Gardner Program, which is associated with the University’s Extension Service.
