N. Jean Fountain

N. Jean Fountain is a 1974 graduate of the Carlson School of Management's MBA program. She joined the University of Minnesota Alumni Association (UMAA) national board of directors in 1994. She served as an at-large member from 1994-97; as vice president from 1997-2000; as national president during 2000-2001; and currently is immediate past president and chair of the Board Development/Nominating Committee. Her vision and expertise in organizational development helped the UMAA attain its long-time goal of reaching 50,000 members by the year 2000. An enthusiastic champion of students, she helped develop and enhance the association's Mentor Connection program. She also spearheaded a number of outreach initiatives, including retooling the association's strategic plan and revamping the UMAA annual meeting to collaborate with the University's Sesquicentennial Celebration.
