Bruce Johnson graduated with a bachelor of science degree in forest products marketing in 1979 from the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS) at the University of Minnesota and has been a true partner of the Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering (BBE) in CFANS. Over the past 40 years, Johnson has had an exemplary career in the lumber industry, recently retiring as the president of Viking Forest Products. He has demonstrated his commitment to the University’s education and research mission through his service as a mentor, donor, advocate, employer, and leader. For more than 20 years, he has been an active and engaged member of the BBE Advisory Council and served as its chair for six years. Johnson is an exemplary University of Minnesota alumnus.
