Howard Juni

Howard Juni received a bachelor of science degree from the College of Pharmacy (1971), closely followed by the newly created PharmD degree in 1974 from the University of Minnesota. Juni has had a 40+ year pharmacy career that included establishing the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) Community Pharmacy Residency in Minnesota, and service on the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy, including as president. As an owner of Capitol Drug in White Bear Lake and in a variety of positions and roles throughout his career, Juni served as a volunteer preceptor for the College of Pharmacy, during which hundreds of students benefited from his commitment to excellence and his patient and enthusiastic diligence. His leadership extended to state and national organizations dedicated to improving pharmacy education, elevating the role of the pharmacist in practice, and through mentorship. He has also received numerous awards, including the Distinguished Pharmacist Award from the Pharmacy Alumni Society and the University of Minnesota Alumni Association’s National Volunteer of the Year Award. Juni most recently served on the College of Pharmacy’s National Board of Advisors, which provides administrators feedback about strategies, goals, and initiatives. His entire alumni life has been one of volunteer service to the University of Minnesota and the College of Pharmacy.
