Barbara D’Aquila is a distinguished alumna of the University of Minnesota Law School, class of 1980. Over the past four decades, D’Aquila has exemplified unwavering dedication and service to her alma mater, significantly enhancing the Law School’s community and outreach efforts. Her extensive involvement includes multiple terms on the Law School’s Board of Advisors, where she served as chair in 2022-2023 and has been an influential member of its Executive Committee since 2021. D’Aquila’s passion for the Law School is evident in her frequent attendance and active participation in events such as the first-year law school tailgate, annual student-alumni receptions, and the Lockhart Club dinner. One of D’Aquila’s notable achievements is co-founding and co-chairing the Minnesota Law AluMNae Network. This initiative, aimed at supporting and advancing women in the legal profession, provides valuable networking opportunities and mentorship for female law students and alumni. Launched in 2023, the network stands as a testament to D’Aquila’s vision and determination to foster an inclusive and supportive community within the Law School. In addition, D’Aquila's contributions as a mentor and advisor have left a lasting impact on countless students. She dedicates her time to listening and offering guidance, ensuring that every student feels valued and supported. D’Aquila’s kindness and attentiveness provide a vital source of encouragement for those navigating the early stages of their legal careers. Her commitment extends beyond the University into the broader legal community, having held leadership positions in the Federal Bar Association, American Bar Association, and the Minnesota State Bar Association, among others. D’Aquila’s expertise and dedication to the legal profession have earned her numerous accolades from her peers. Her legacy of service, mentorship, and leadership continues to inspire and uplift those around her, solidifying her as an integral part of the Law School’s success and its future.
