Kenneth H. Johnson

Kenneth H. Johnson received his bachelor's degree (1958) and his DVM degree (1960) and Ph.D. (1965) in Veterinary Pathology from the University of Minnesota. He became a University of Minnesota faculty member and served as chair of the Department of Veterinary Pathobiology from 1976-83. As a scientist he gained international prominence in the field of amyloidosis. His research led to discoveries into the cause and treatment of diabetes mellitus. He is described as a passionate teacher and tireless researcher and has received numerous awards for teaching and research.
