J.R. Anthony Pearson is known for his pioneering work in the fields of polymer processing, fluid mechanics and petroleum geomechanics. He is recognized for his contribution to knowledge through authorship of over 100 publications including his book "Mechanics of Polymer Processing," which is described as "a gold mine for rheologists." He has received numerous awards over the past four decades in acknowledgement of his scholarly eminence, including an honorary degree from his alma mater, Cambridge University, in 1975 and election to membership, as Foreign Associate, of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering in 1980.
