Marvin Banks

Marvin Banks received a bachelor's degree in speech communication (2010) from the College of Liberal Arts and a masters degree in sports and fitness administration (2012) from the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Minnesota. Currently he works as a human resources professional at the Federal Reserve Bank in Minneapolis. Banks has served on the College of Education and Human Development Alumni Society Board since 2018, and currently is in his second year as president. Under his leadership, the board has stayed strong and active through staff transition and the COVID-19 pandemic. In his role as president, he represents the society at official functions, and coordinates with the staff alumni relations officer to set the overall policy and direction of the society. In addition, he worked to update the board’s bylaws to align them with current practice and helped bring on two new board members. He is credited with staying positive and promoting community among the board. Banks also volunteers at campus career events.
