Stanford Freese graduated from the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota in 1968, with a major in music education. Currently, he is the Talent Booking and Casting Director at Disneyland. Throughout his 35-year career with The Walt Disney Company, he has also served as the Director of Bands at Walt Disney World and Disneyland, Show Director, Tokyo Disneyland, Entertainment Producer, Pleasure Island, Disney World, and Musical Show Director, Tokyo Disney Seas. He was the first leader of the Walt Disney World Band and the Disneyland Band. He was selected by the United States Cultural Exchange Department as the tuba soloist on the University of Minnesota Concert Band’s Soviet Union tour in 1969 and China tour in 1980. In 1994 he was inducted into the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame and in 2007 he received the Edina Hall of Fame Award, which recognizes exceptional leadership and character and personal achievement.
