Outstanding Achievement Award Recipient

Joseph T. O’Neill is a 1956 graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School. After serving in the United States Air Force, he returned to Minnesota to begin four decades of law practice and public service. This distinguished lawyer and statesman, is Co-Founder and Partner of the St. Paul based law firm O’Neill, Grills & O’Neill. He has served in the Minnesota House of Representatives and as a State Senator. In addition, he has served as chairman of several organizations such as the Governors Judicial Selection Committee and the St. Paul Chamber of Commerce, and as board member on many others. He is the recipient of numerous awards that recognize his contributions as a humanitarian, legislator, lawyer, and civic leader. He is also a strong supporter of the Law School, having served on the Law School Board of Visitors, the Law Alumni Association Board of Directors, and as Vice Chair of the Law School’s most recent capital campaign.
