Jean E. Hanson

A native Minnesotan, born in Alexandria, Ms. Hanson received her Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1976. Soon after graduation she joined the law firm of Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson and became a partner in 1983. She served as the General Counsel to the United States Treasury in 1993 and 1994, rejoined Fried Frank as a partner. In her practice she represents a wide variety of clients, both foreign and domestic, public and private, as well as investment banking firms and corporations. In 1989, The National Law Journal selected her has one of 50 under 50, fifty lawyers under 50 years of age whose accomplishments, influence and reputation have placed them in a category of their own. Ms. Hanson is a member of Securities Regulation Committee of the Association of the New York City Bar and serves on the Law Alumni Board of Directors and Board of Visitors.
