Richard T. Murphy Jr.

Richard T. Murphy Jr. received bachelor’s degrees in landscape architecture and environmental design (1975) from the Department of Landscape Architecture in the College of Design and a master of business administration from the Carlson School of Management (1986) at the University of Minnesota. He is the president and chief executive officer of Murphy Warehouse Company, a Minneapolis-based firm that provides supply chain logistics services for domestic and international clients. Murphy served on the College of Design Dean’s Advisory Board and on the Supply Chain and Operations Board of Advisors for the Carlson School of Management. He also served on the Carlson Executive MBA Alumni Board of Advisors and the University’s Center for Transportation Studies Advisory Committee. In addition, he served on the Architecture and Landscape (ALA) National Advisory Board and the University of Minnesota Foundation ALA Advisory Board. Murphy served as an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Landscape Architecture for twenty-six years. He is described as an esteemed advisor and steadfast volunteer who is a spirited champion of the University, a donor, lifetime member of the Alumni Association, and a season ticket holder for Gopher Men’s Hockey.
