Jim du Bois

Jim du Bois received a bachelor of arts degree in speech communication from the College of Liberal Arts (CLA) in 1987 from the University of Minnesota. Currently, he is the President and CEO of Minnesota Broadcasters Association. A Joint Full Lifetime Member of the University of Minnesota Alumni Association (UMAA) since 2005, one of his most impressive volunteer achievements include the partnership he formed between the CLA Alumni Society, the MBA Program and Radio K to create the weekly public affairs talk show Access Minnesota that now airs on over 40 radio stations across Minnesota. He has served on the CLA Alumni Society Board since 2000; the Intercollegiate Athletics Advisory Board since 2002; and the UMAA National Board of Directors since 2005. He has been an active mentor for CLA, served as the alumni speaker at the CLA commencement ceremony in December 2003, and has been a member of the University of Minnesota Legislative Network since 2004. In 2005, he was named the UMAA National Volunteer of the Year and, in 2006, he was inducted as CLA Alumnus of Notable Achievement.
