James T. Swenson

James Swenson, a native of Superior, Wisconsin graduated from UMD in 1959 with a B.A. in chemistry. He is the chief executive officer and owner of Details, Inc., a California-based company that provides time-critical electronics design and assembly services for makers of communications and networking equipment, computers, and medical and industrial instruments. It became the fastest quick-turn-around engineering prototype circuit board shop in the United States whose client list included IBM, Apple and Motorola. He is a distinguished benefactor to the University of Minnesota Duluth and a member of the Builders Society of the President's Club. The Swenson Family Foundation has committed to a new building, scholarships and research at UMD. In addition, he is active on several boards in California including the Children's Hospital of Orange County and for the Citizens Business Bank.
