Ed J. Kodet Jr. received a master of architecture degree in 1969 from the College of Design at the University of Minnesota. He is the founder of Kodet Architectural Group, Ltd., a Minneapolis based architectural firm specializing in educational, religious, public facilities, historic restoration, recreational, and retail design. Kodet is known as an inspiring teacher and mentor to students and emerging professionals, as a trusted leader and advisor to faculty and deans, and as a devoted advocate and supporter of the University, the College of Design, and its School of Architecture. He served as an adjunct associate professor until 1993 and since then he has served on the advisory board for both the College of Design (2007-2013) and the College of Architecture and Landscape Architecture. Kodet also served on the Architecture Centennial Planning Committee (2012-2013), participated in the recent College of Design dean’s search, and has consulted on many other committees and projects over the years. He is a life member of the University of Minnesota Alumni Association, a member of the Goldstein Museum of Design, and a President’s Club member since 2007.
