Charles J. “Chuck” Edward received a master’s degree in industrial relations in 1993 from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. Since graduating twenty years ago, Edward has distinguished himself as a loyal, energetic, and selfless alumnus through long lasting and broad based volunteer work for the Carlson School and its Human Resources and Industrial Relations M.A. program (HRIR). He generously shares his time and expertise with students, alumni and faculty. Edward has been an active mentor, and recruits Carlson School HRIR students to intern at Microsoft during the summer between their first and second years of study. Edward is the general manager of Global University Recruiting at Microsoft and has been involved with hiring at least a dozen HRIR graduates. He is a frequent guest classroom speaker, a member of the Carlson School Center for Human Resources and Labor Relations Advisory Council, and a judge, speaker and sponsor of the inaugural Carlson International HR Case Competition.
