Alumni Service Award Recipient
College of Education and Human Development, October 11, 2012
Carol Mulligan received a bachelor of science degree in family social science in the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) in 2001. A communications professional, she is a self-employed copy editor who specializes in media relations. Described as the consummate volunteer ambassador for the college, her volunteer service began when she joined the then College of Human Ecology (CHE) Alumni Society Board in 2005 and served as its secretary for one year. When the General College and elements of CHE were disbanded and reorganized under CEHD, she was instrumental in the merging into the new CEHD Alumni Society. She is credited with creating a unity on the newly formed board and spearheading major revisions to the board's constitution and updating the committee structure. She has served as president of CEHD Alumni Society, as a board member, and as a volunteer at CEHD events such as Welcome Week, Reads Week, Homecoming, International Thanksgiving Dinner, Saturday Scholars, Golf Scramble for Scholarships, Alumni/Student Networking, and Commencement.
