Ann Carlson Birt

Ann Carlson Birt received a bachelor of science degree in home economics in 1956 from the College of Design and is the founder of Ann Birt Interiors. She is described as a steadfast champion of the University of Minnesota, the College of Design, and the Goldstein Museum of Design (GMD). Not only is she a life member of the University of Minnesota Alumni Association, she has also been a member of the College of Design Dean's Advisory Board and she served as chair of the Director's Endowment Campaign for Goldstein Museum of Design. As GMD chair, she actively raised over $300,000 toward a director's endowment fund. In 2006, she received the Friend of the College Award from the College of Human Ecology, and in 2008, she became a Chancellor's Society U of M Foundation Giving Club member. She is known for building supportive relationships that inspire others to get involved and give back to the University.
