Kenneth L. Block

Kenneth L. Block earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Minnesota in 1942. After graduation, he served the United States Air Force and from there he went on to receive a bachelor of science in engineering from MIT and an MBA from the University of Michigan. He taught at the University of Michigan's School of Business Administration for one year before joining A. T. Kearney, a leading global management-consulting firm, in 1948, where he spent the remainder of his career. He became president in 1969 and chairman in 1974. After retirement in 1986, he became chairman emeritus. Under his leadership, A.T. Kearney grew to become one the three largest and most recognized consulting firms in the U.S., with international connections in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Japan. He has served with distinction on numerous corporate boards and has been active in his civic and community activities. His work on boards and committees include religious organizations, fire and police departments, professional associations, charity groups, healthcare systems, and educational institutions. After retirement, he has devoted himself to two causes: helping youth and sharing his faith.
