Norman A. Berg grew up on a farm in Pine County, Minnesota. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1941 with a degree in Agricultural Education. He received a M.P.A. from Harvard University in 1956. He has distinguished himself through exceptional and long-standing service in the protection and use of the natural resources of the United States and world-wide. He has served as Chief of Natural Resources Conservation Services, USDA, and since retirement has been the leading national spokesperson for protection of natural resources.
