Gerhard Levy is considered one of the preeminent pharmaceutical scientists in the world and has been recognized by his receipt of every significant honor and named lectureship in the fields of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Clinical Pharmacology. Over the course of forty years he has shaped the direction of pharmaceutical and biomedical research. His work led to the understanding of the relationship between drug effects and drug concentrations, and how measurements of drugs in systemic fluids of individual patients could be utilized to maximize efficacy and decrease toxicity.
