Doraiswami Ramkrisna is the Harry Creighton Peffer Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering at Purdue University. He earned his Ph.D. (1965) from the University of Minnesota and served as assistant professor, 1965-67. He has been and is a leader in chemical engineering research and education. He is an internationally renowned figure and has significantly influenced the scientific progress in the areas of application of linear operator theory for the analysis of chemical processes, population balance equations in chemical engineering and cybernetic modeling of biological systems. He is the author of several books and over 150 research papers. In addition, he has received many honors both in the United States and in India where he was born.
